I guess it's a windows problem then (which I kinda suspected anyway), but since it's only happening with the vbcable device I thought maybe someone on these forums might be able to shed some light on whats happening.

I seem to recall this started with one of the windows updates, but I'm not certain. Anyway running windows 10 64 bit. The recording device of vbcable keeps setting the mute on.
