Re: weighting?

Having considered it further, both displays should read the same; A, C or Z-weighted. To do otherwise would be silly.

Re: weighting?

I appreciate that production work (broadcast, PA, recording) demands unweighted measurement. Actually, the standard is now called "Z-weighted," which specifies flat from 10 Hz - 20 KHz (+/- 1.5 db) Environmental noise analysis is quite different. A-weighted measure is the norm. Is it corre...

Re: weighting?

Yes, I used a MiniDSP UMIK-1 microphone and a calibrator. The calibrator exactly fits the mic head. It generates a 1kHz tone at 114 db and 94 db. I was able to calibrate the software to within 0.1 db.

weighting?

This past weekend Spectralissime to monitor an outdoor concert. I had it set for ISO mode so it was displaying RMS SPL. It worked splendidly. I recorded it's output, overlaying it on a video stream of the stage. I also used a standard logging SPL meter (3M) to keep track of the simple loudness, expr...

Re: VoiceMeeter Banana & Hangout using Chrome

One additional note - for years I've used a screen capture utility called CapSnapper. It's from Cerius Software. http://www.cerious.com/capsnapper.shtml I could not screen capture the Control Panel for the AUX I/O. When it had the focus the screen capture was not possible. Not for the window or the ...

Re: VoiceMeeter Banana & Hangout using Chrome

Vincent, The virtual inputs show 44100Hz/7168 and 96000Hz/7168 respectively. This week I did some further experimentation. A1 - Since the A1 output device seems to be extra important, I set it to be the SPDIF output of the PCs audio interface. A2 - The Sennheiser USB headset was demoted to A2 A3 - V...

Re: VoiceMeeter Banana & Hangout using Chrome

Here's a further observation. There's another, older thread here that noted that stability of the outbound stream as being impacted by the stability of the A1 output device. When my Sennheiser DW Pro2 us set as A1 output the only manner of access that works at all is the MME mode. WDM mode makes odd...

VoiceMeeter Banana & Hangout using Chrome

Hello, Every week I use VMB to co-produce a podcast/Hangout (http://vuc.me) We're a bit involved in how we do it. We have participants all around Europe & North America. The foundation of the show is a Hangout-On-Air. I interconnect the HOA to a telephone conference bridge that's globally access...

Re: VoiceMeeter occasionally loses its mind

Does today's release of VB-Cable address the stream stability issue you mentioned here?

Re: VoiceMeeter occasionally loses its mind

I can't be certain. I first noticed the problem in late August. The system suffered hard drive failure in early August. Until then it had been running Windows 7. I spent about a week getting it rebuilt and running a properly activated copy of Windows 10. That process was finished about Aug 17th. Whi...
