Re: Trouble with WDM Realtek digital output
DDL is working fine on my win10 box, but I did hear of problems with it in the test ('insider') builds... So are you saying that they never fixed it and are now rolling it out to everyone anyway? What's the problem exactly?

Re: Trouble with WDM Realtek digital output
This may be interesting: Reaper seems to work with this card and driver in WASAPI mode. Exclusive mode throws an error: There was an error opening the audio hardware: WASAPI error: could not find output device format But shared mode works fine. No distortion, no long/odd length buffers HTH! By the w...

Re: Trouble with WDM Realtek digital output
Thank you for helping us! Good idea. I had not seen this problem anywhere else but after a few minutes trying different configurations of VLC, I was able to get the distortion to occur. It only gives distortion when I select "Windows Multimedia Device output" as the 'Output module', and se...

Re: Trouble with WDM Realtek digital output
the problem seems to concern only this Realtek Optical output in multichannel mode and WDM interface... we simply have to reproduce the problem here to correct it... what is connected to your optical link : an AV-amplifier ? I agree, it seems specific to multichannel mode (dolby digital specificall...

Re: Trouble with WDM output
Well, this was interesting! I had no idea that JACK worked so well on Windows. Even QJACKCtl works, and my favourite router, catia! Thanks for that tip! I have the server running, and it works with buffers at 512, or 256 or 128 (didn't try any others yet as these should all be fine). I got jackroute...

Re: Trouble with WDM output
i did not see it before but you can set WDM buffering to default value = 512 (or check if 256 works stable). 128 samples is often too small for most of WDM audio device. I tried with all buffer sizes and had that behaviour mentioned before - Distortion with any buffer size, and buffer size is alway...

Re: Trouble with WDM output
Is there anything else I can do, or is it time for me to give up? It's a shame, I'm used to linux's excellent audio system (jack2) and voicemeeter was my only hope to get some basic audio routing in windows. I guess I have zero hope in doing something like this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaum...

Re: Trouble with WDM output
Thanks for the advice :) This screenshot is one of many configurations which I attempted, but the same behaviour is seen in normal mode and swift mode. I tried to use my only other sound card, which is the HDMI audio to my TV, as A1, then, my optical output as A2. Behaviour is the same as above - di...
