VM Banana question...

Post by tgparker2019 »

Not sure what the name is for the following feature /technique on VM Banana:

I have: Microphone (WDM:Microphone (High Definition audio Device)) and VLC Media Player (WDM CABLE-A Output (VB-Audio Cable A)).

I want the output from VLC Media Player quieter/less than the output from my Microphone whenever I'm' speaking.

What is that feature or technique called and how do I achieve that on VM Banana?

Thanks,
Andres

Hi. Ducking is the term used when you reduce the level of an audio signal based on the presence of another signal. Voicemeeter Banana installation includes an additional program called Macro Buttons which you can use to configure auto ducking.

You could search YouTube to watch some tutorials. I think this could be useful: https://youtu.be/e4XZOzRfHho

It is also explained in the Voicemeeter Banana User Manual: Sections MACRO buttons and AUTO Ducking (Trigger): https://www.vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/ba ... umentation

Hope this helps.
