Setting Macro's With A Memory

Hi guys. Wonder if anyone could help me, I'm using voicemeeter potato controlled with a Korg NanoKontrol 2 primarily for twitch streaming.

I use the volume pots on my nanokontrol to control the External FX Send 1 on each channel which returns on A5 to be sent to OBS (Stream).
I do it this way because it means inbetween streams i can adjust the main volumes to my speakers using the Faders without having set my levels again before every stream. - Sorry, i think i've explained that in a way that makes sense!

My Record button's are set as follow's;

The "Strip[0].FX1=2.0" works ok, but it means if i adjust the volume of the channel on stream it doesnt remember what i set it to and when i set that channel to record again next time it will revert to 2.0 (at the moment i adjust the macro at the end of each stream).

My question is! (and sorry this has been long winded)

Is there any way of having a macro remember and revert to a previous state? instead of having a predefined volume in the macro?

One way i found that almost works was to have the volume pot so it adjusts the FX volume and also saves the current state of voicemeeter to a new xml file, and then have the record button set to load that xml file. This almost works but when you set a channel to record all the audio cuts out for a few seconds while the file is loaded which isnt great for live streaming.

I wonder if there's any way to write the value to a text file and then get the macro to look that value up?

Any help or suggestions would be magic!
