Compressor or VST effects with Voicemeeter

Post by rodak »

Is the Compressor feature only available with Potato? The basic Voicemeeter more than meets my needs, but I'd really like to have a compressor. Or is it possible to use a VST plugin with Voicemeeter or Banana (which is still more features than I need, but...)

audibility knob in Voicemeeter Standard is implementing Compression/Gate effect if you can find a good settings, maybe around the value 2.0.
Voicemeeter Banana offer separate knobs, one for comrpression , one for gate.

Ah, so Audibility only works on the two hardware input channels? Rats. I was looking for something that would compress the Virtual input. What I'm trying to do is compensate for the sometimes large volume levels of different speakers on Zoom/Skype/Teams calls. I often find myself continually riding the volume to hear quiet speakers or keep louder speakers from breaking my eardrums.

Indeed, I'm trying to watch a youtube tutorial and the presenter screwed up their audio settings. The first word of every paragraph is stupid distorted loud, and then it dies down to barely audible.

A compressor on the virtual inputs would be super helpful
