VoiceMeeter slapback echo?

Post by sad_muso »

Hi,

First up - amazing software, thanks for making this :D

I am trying to get an audio input to work with low latency and also be able to hear the usual PC sounds. ASIO seems to be the industry standard for low latency input, but it usually means that you cannot have any other system sounds simultaneously. I'm basically trying to run my guitar through Amplitube 4 and play along with songs without any noticeable delay.

My setup
Soundcard – onboard from ASUS Sabertooth P67 motherboard
USB interface – Cakewalk UA-1G which serves as my guitar input
Guitar software – Amplitube 4

I've now got to the point where I can play guitar without latency and also hear PC audio, but VoiceMeeter seems to be introducing a strange 'slapback delay' effect. Any ideas why this is happening?

Here is a video showing my issue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDx4E52nvwo

Many thanks,

First of all, to play live with Voicemeeter, you might
0- set Voicemeeter virtual audio device as default playback device (to manage other PC Sound).
1- Connect Voicemeeter Output A1 to your ASIO device.
2- Connect your DAW or Syntheciser to Voicemeeter Virtual ASIO device.

In your DAW, you may switch off input monitoring to avoid loop back (or in Voicemeeter do not send virtual input where is playing your DAW to the related BUS B1 or B2).
