Klicking/crackling mic in Discord

Post by Yaun »

Hi,
since a few weeks/month (don't know exactly when it starts) have the issue, that I have clicks/crackling when I'm talking in Discord.

My config:
Focusrite USB with t.bone Mic on HW Input 5 -> B1
Input device in Discord -> VoiceMeeter Output

When i'm recording B1 with Voicemeeter, there is no clicking/crackling sound
When I talk to my self with two different Discordaccounts or to other people in Discord it is clicking/crackling

Another friend of me, has the same Problem, with other hardware but also with Voicemeeter and Discord. Do you have any Idea what causes this issue?

Another thing what I regocnized, when I was talking to my self, that the soundquality via B1 isnt't as good as when I choose the Mic directly in Discord. I don't have any EQ activated, because I thought, HW input is forwarded 1:1 to B1.

(I tried to record those clicks, but I can not reproduce it at the moment. So when I have the chance, I will upload an example)

Have you tried clicking the Menu button and doing "Restart Audio Engine"? I've noticed that if my system has been sitting for awhile, I'll get on Discord and people will complain my audio is messed up (and I will hear it if I go into Discord's setup and do a Mic Test) but restarting the engine fixes it.

this kind of problem is usually pending on your output A1 device configuration.
the best way is to select another audio device or audio interface for the main stream (output A1) and get the most stable configuration.

I only have the Focusrite scarlet 2i2 3rd, Soundblaster and internal Soundcard. Should I try Foxusrite as A1?

yes, using Focusrite ASIO driver as output A1 should be better.
