Robotic sound on my microphone

Post by AxeTheRipper »

After updating latest version of windows my voice sound like robot a bit
over discord
I have AT2020+ plus mic and G635 headphones mic same result
I have tried to reinstall VM and Discord it didn't help if I use one of my mic direcly without VM with discord
It is fine no robot sounds over discord
one more time robote sound only appears thru discord testet with 2 different mic

I have try to select WDM/KS/MME types

WDM works the best with other 2 sound is more horrible

I tried to get WDM working but I was getting distorted sound. That left me with MME, which worked fine. Not giving up, I was able to get WDM working by going into Windows 10 advanced sound settings and set my main output speaker to use exclusive mode. But I have WDM input exclusive mode turned off in VM settings.

yes, "WDM input exclusive mode" remains experimental. we do not recommend it.

I ran into the same issue after the Windows 10 2004 update and having no luck fixing it.

However, I just installed the current beta client of discord and as far as I can tell the problem seems fixed. (https://discord.com/api/download/ptb?platform=win)

There's a lot of threads with the same issue, so if someone with the same problem could confirm that the update fixes this for them too...

EDIT: Nevermind, it seems to work a little bit longer but inevitably the robo-crackle comes back. :(
