Setup VB-Cable on Mac OSX

Post by videobuff »

I can't figure out how to setup VB-Cable on my mini Mac running Sonoma 14.4.

The intention is to have audio from a web receiver called OpenWEB RX (listening for data from weather balloons) , been sent to both the speakers as wel as a piece of software, in this case Horus GUI which does the decoding.
I use Google Chrome as browser

I am using a Zoom R16 USB Audio device to feed my speakers.
After installation I have two more audio devices (VB-Cable A & B) but when I choose them, I loose the output on my Zoom R16

It is probably very simple, but I can't figure it out.

The VB-CABLE is a simple cable to connect 2x applications together (a player to a recorder).

Vincent, i understand your reply. However, my player is the Google Chrome website. And I like to forward that audio towards an app called Horus-GUI.
In this app I can select the audio source and I select VB-A.

No problem in doing so. But when I select VB-A as the output, then I loose the audio on the Zoom interface and I can't listen on it.
With Voicemeeter on my windows machine, I can send audio towards the app in windows and with another output from voiucemeeter towards the Audio output of my windows machine.
There is no voicemeeter for MAC I believe so I hoped on another "trick".

Thanks anyway for a great piece of software.

you may find a way to playback Chrome Audio into VB-CABLE input, without setting VB-CABLE as default playback device i guess (your zoom is maybe the one to be the default playback device).

I am listening to a website via chrome. When i select Zoom R16 in the audio panel. the sound from this website is played over de Zoom R16 interface to my speakers.

Now i need to send it to an application. The application has a choice of audo sources. See the next picture.

How do i have to select, and what device where, to make it work and stream the audio to the application.
On windos i use voicemeeeter and it works like a charm
I hope i don't have to wait another three years.
