Force output device sample rate

Post by boxerfan88 »

Hi Vincent,

I have just started testing out VB Matrix. It is quite useful so far.

I have a question - is it possible for me to configure and force a sample rate for the output device?

Image

In the picture below, the DAC powered up and defaulted to 44100.
When I start up VB-Matrix,VB-Matrix takes 44100 as the device sample rate.

However, I want to run the device at 176400 sample rate (same as the master DAC).
How can I configure VB-Matrix to force an output device to a specific sample rate automatically when VB-Matrix starts up?

Thank you very much.

several solutions:

in Matrix System settings, you can change the ASIO SR to use preferred sample rate instead of default. This will ask to the ASIO driver to run in the preferred samplerate. However, the ASIO driver can say no, because driven by another internal or external clock.

The second solution is to open the ASIO control panel and set the desired samplerate here (while Matrix is configured to use the default ASIO SR).
warning: some ASIO driver does not allow to change samplerate on its control panel while in use.
