Been experimenting with implementing Macro Buttons as a sort of 2x1 switch. This will switch one source to another in the event that one source goes silent.
The system works by receiving 1kz tone from two sources, if one goes silent, a midi command is triggered to switch routing in VB Matrix.
The problem:
I know that the tone sources are uninterrupted, but as the audio is transferred from Voicemeeter to Macro Buttons, dropouts occur. These can be up to ~200ms in duration. What this means is that, for safety, the minimum hold off I can set before the commands are inadvertently triggered, is about 250ms.
Now, a 250ms delay isn't too bad, but I wondered if there is anything I can do to eliminate the dropouts of audio to the Macro Button trigger? I've tried messing around with lots of settings but with no reliable result. The strange thing is that the dropouts seem to occur at random intervals - i.e. nothing for a while, then a spate of them.
