ASIO working in 16-bit only

Hi,
I tried to route audio between 2 actual ASIO drivers, and thanks to a « bit perfect test » provided by RME, I 'discovered' that Matrix (Coconut version in my case) was able to route audio bit perfectly — i.e. without resampling — but only in 16-bit. I.e when I route a 24 or 32 bit (fixed point) signal to my RME device, the latter receives only a 16-bit stream no matter what.
Is that a defect? Wouldn’t it be possible route ASIO streams at original bit depth?
Thanks for your support and your absolutely great tools!
