Re: VBAN Stream on internet

Vincent Burel wrote:... and keep in mind for internet that 300 km of cable = 1ms of latency (without counting router latency).
Is this the same latency that ICMP ping would show? Of course, ping shows Round Trip Time, which is there and back actually.

Re: VBAN Stream on internet

ASIO driver working with less than 128 sample buffer, do not work stable or are hacking the audio callback by calling it twice or more in the same time slot. This way to manage ASIO driver is disturbing our virtual ASIO driver (because striclty synchronized on double buffering ASIO principle) Are y...

Re: VBAN Stream on internet

well, 512 buffer size work perfect on local wired network. Ah, but the question is what does "perfect" mean and in what context. Are we comparing it to analog cables? Or is our baseline Zoom or similar? My perspective is: as low as possible latency, given what hardware would allow for, for usage in...

Re: VBAN Stream on internet

Reading the specifications here , on page 13, I can see the network buffer sizes implementation. In the interest of clarity, transparency and portability, I would like to suggest to avoid labeling and standardizing presets for those. I believe it would be much more useful for everyone to be able to ...

Re: [SOLVED] Voicemeeter going full ASIO = problem

Thank you @praisetracks for confirming that Presonus ASIO drivers work correctly.
Guided by that info we just tested a brand new PreSonus Studio 24c 2x2 and it works great.
No crackling, no problems, very low latency achievable.

Cheers!

Re: VBAN Stream on internet

... but of course if the network is getting a 500ms or even 200ms delay on packet delivery, this could cut our VBAN Stream (that's why most streaming platform are usually using several second of pre-buffering.... That's exactly where I see the problem here. We can either choose AoIP apps that have ...

Re: VBAN Stream on internet

Hi Vincent, In these days of quarantines and lockdowns, internet becomes more important than ever. Me and my friend were testing VBAN long distance connections between UK and Malta, and the results are inconclusive. One day it works flawlessly, for few hours, then it starts crackling like crazy, the...

Re: Voicemeeter going full ASIO = problem

Success!!! Following up on this thread of thought where Focusrite's badly programmed ASIO drivers could be the problem, I pulled up my dusty old Centrance Mic Port that was lying around forgotten in a drawer and installed their ASIO drivers (I had to install "Legacy" v7.4.19 drivers as latest v8.0.2...
