that is not how saving is done. your method is completely irrelevant to the issue.

What version of VMB are you using? I just updated to 2058 and now unable to run ASIO4ALL at 384 bu @ 24bit 48000. I am now running at 512 bu @ 24bit 48000 with slight crackles on 2058 and the audio is terrible. Version 2054 I could run 384 bu @ 24bit 48000 but rarely sometimes it would fall out, but...

It is not specific to ASIO4ALL. It is all drivers. I've not had a problem in the past and this is a fresh version of windows 10. Either way I am no longer using Potato and Banana works just fine.

Do you know of an alternate ASIO driver? Perhaps a paid PRO version?

Last two versions that I'm aware of. Yes, it reproduces. Menu > Save Settings > [filename] > ... I have to change 'save as type' to 'all' and remove [.]xml from the name and it saves fine, then add the extension manually.

File already exists. Do you want to replace?

This issue is persistent for years with Voicemeeter, even when changing the file name or changing the directory.
