- or your speakers are connected to your computer (with an audio interface).
- or your speakers are connected to a VBAN receptor device.
- or your speakers are connected to a something that can be handled as audio interface by your PC.

you may have probably forgotten to use the windows LISTEN option to listen to the output of the cable. (to route the cable recording device to your headphone thanks to Windows option in device properties). VB-Audio matrix main sample rate (used by the audio engine) is given by the master device (the slot set as Master).

and it is not expected to change without restarting the audio engine.

the HIHI Cable + ASIO bridge was maybe more capable to do that if i remember well... to be checked
