we normally followed the 5.1 default topology given by Microsoft... possibly defined to be cross compatible with 7.1 setup...
well, anyway , we note the problem and will try to fix it in possible new update...

yes, possibly, if the audio device is not ready Voicemeeter will start without running it...
that's why we added a countdown before restarting...
do you see the progress bar on Voicemeeter when starting it ?

normally it should restart automatically... latest Voicemeeter has now a count down to wait some seconds before restarting audio engine (you should see it since it is displayed on the top right as a progress bar before starting audio) ... this is made to let all system services an devices wake up to...

you may change the audio interface for this device and see if it helps (use KS or MME instead of WDM for example).

instead of restarting Voicemeeter, can go in menu to make a Restart Audio Engine ?
if yes, it means your device selected as output A1 stops working... after some how many time ?
maybe due USB power management or because the device shut down... or something like that...
