If you (as a super pro user) cannot live without impulse response measuring, then you have to use something else ( Sonarworks Reference 4 Studio Edition - 299€) post Voicemeeter or keep your individual strip insert processing approach with correction via an appropiate VST Plugin.

a vst slot is not a meta DAW. equalizer apo have a vst slot builtin and is no DAW, but it is very deep in the system, and after the big win 10 update which happen 2 times per year there need reinstall and there need change registry keys to public, and it cost many reboots to get it working again. because win 10 update you can not avoid, it can happen some day, that equalizer apo did not work anymore. it have since long time no updates get
I have idea for good working virtual devices with use of the CPU MMU memory exception handler. buffer start is buffer size -1 sample before a protected memory area. Now when the daw write the last sample of the buffer, the MMU trigger a memory access violation. the virtual device need install a exception handler before, so windows do not stop the program. In the exception handler of virtual device is then the buffer copy and process. this can work very fast. in computer emulators is such a technic used to process sound and video data.
the most important is that voicemeeter have good working virtual devices. the vbaudio cable did crackle often. other virtual devices do that too. maybe it is possible to release good working virtual devices . (i mean with good that they work same good as real audio card drivers, and have volume control ability) that can work everwhere as shared input and output. I do not understand way
trust ears i think not good because when boost high frequency and bass it always sound better but damage ears sooner or later when longer hear loud. hear a while with that settings and then remove high freq boosting and bass boosting and the original sound very worse. so ears work relative. there can also reduce high freq for test and when longer hear and switch back to normal, then all sound too bright.
thats the reason because most surround receiver have a measuring solution built in today. i think studio technoligy worser in compare to hifi technolify. in studio technology are digital outputs selden. speaker corrections not easy.
