Output stuck at 8000hz

Been in contact on email and tried all their fixes (setting it to 44100hz in windows sound settings) but nothing has been working. Problem started after reinstalling windows completely and at the same virtual audio cable and voice meeter.

you may reset the default format in the Windows Control Panel / Sound Dialog box.

Already tried reseting everything to defaults and changing from 44100hz to 8000hz and back to 441000hz but still says 8000hz in voicemeeter and cable control panel, plus obviously sounds awful.

You may change this, while no application is connected to it, is not using it.

I have the same problem! And because of it (at least that's what I think is the reason) all audio going through the cable is distorted and sounds kind of metallic.
I already tried switching settings while it is not used by anything but didn't have any luck with it

you may change the default audio format to 44100 Hz or 48 kHz
(for all recording devices that could have been impacted by the November WIN10 upgrade - or after having installed audio driver on WIN10 version 1809).

Then Reboot and recheck your recording device default audio format.

- Addresses an audio compatibility issue when playing newer games with 3D Spatial Audio mode enabled through multichannel audio devices or Windows Sonic for Headphones.
- Addresses an issue that may cause audio playback to stop responding when playing Free Lossless Audio Codec (FLAC) audio content after using a Seek operation such as rewind.
- Addresses an issue with two-way audio that occurs during phone calls for some Bluetooth headsets.

I think I'm having the same problems, which is resulting in my voice and music sounding "soft" as I know that 8000 Hz is the quality of a telephone line vs. broadcast audio.

I've installed the latest Windows 10 update:

I have Cables A and B set up as 44k Hz audio:

And the result is still the two cables showing up as 8k Hz capable. (seems I can only attach 3 images, so I'll reply to show what MEETER is reporting to me.

As we explained, this is concerning recording devices, not playback devices.
so you may check the default format used by the cable output (not the input).
