Hello,
I just set up VoiceMeeter Banana for the first time and was able to configure the first input and output *fairly* successfully. However, I can't seem to be able to control/mute/etc. the plugin mic (on my headset) through VoiceMeeter.
I'll describe my setup the best I can. . .
--- I'm using a Dell XPS 8910 with integrated Realtek audio.
--- My first input is a USB condenser mic. There is no issue with this mic; it behaves as expected.
--- My second input is "Microphone Realtek Audio" which is using the plugin mic of a headset. The headset has two 3.5mm audio jacks -- one for the mic and one for the headphones. This is the item I'm having trouble configuring.
--- All "Playback Devices" and "Recording Devices" in Windows sound settings have been set to 16-bit 48000Hz and the "VoiceMeeter Input" and "VoiceMeeter Output" options are selected as default.
--- ***NOTE: I also have "CABLE Output", "CABLE A Output" and "CABLE B Output" installed, but I am not using them at this point.
I am able to control the output, gain and mute for the USB condenser mic. However, I'm unable to exercise that control for my headset mic. Why is this? What am I doing wrong?
To restate what I'm experiencing: If the headset mic is plugged in and I tap on the mic, I can hear the sound from my output (speakers/headphones/etc.). If I click the mute button for the headset mic input, I can still hear the tapping from the output.
I hope that makes sense. Please let me know if I can clarify or if you need additional information.
Thanks!
-Adam

Re: Unable to control headset mic input with VoiceMeeter
Is Windows' "Listen to this device" enabled? If so, switch it off.
Make sure that this box is unchecked.

Thank you for taking the time to post, Ragnar.
No, "Listen to this device" was not enabled. In fact, it is disabled for all possible devices.
Thanks!
