I'm not sure where my setup is mis-configured, but I'm no longer able to get 5.1 sound out of my Sound Blaster Z when it runs through Voicemeeter. I am not sure it ever did.
I'm running digital out from Sound Blaster Z to a Samsung HT-j5500W, which has Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect support: https://www.samsung.com/us/televisions- ... j5500w-za/
SBZ software says, "To enjoy Dolby Digital Live or DTS Connect, ensure that you select 'Speakers (Sound Blaster Z)' as the default playback device in the Windows Sound control Panel and (if applicable) in the settings of your applications and games." By default, I now have Voicemeeter Input as the default playback for Windows.
I've tried setting Voicemeeter Input as 5.1, but that hasn't worked.
I'm not an audio guru, so I don't know if what I'm trying to do is even possible. Can I still utilize SB encoders for 5.1 on the Samsung HT-j5500 (I think I got that right). If not, does anyone know of a solution?
