Microphone audio not present

I installed VMB (and not VAC) in order to take the audio from my computer and have it play on my speakers and also on an HDMI monitor in another room. I am able to hear audio from the computer and the mic's on my speakers and the desktop audio on the HDMI monitor, but not the audio from the mic's on the monitor. The mic's go to a sound board, which might be the problem. I have tried almost every combination but am not able to hear the mic's on the HDMI monitor. Any ideas of how to make this work?

check your microphone audio device windows parameters (gain, enable state)
(WIN10 May2018) check your microphone is enabled and allowed in your "Privacy Settings" for Microphone...
Select your Mic in Voicemeeter hardware input and check you get significant level in.
