I am having a problem with my 44vsl dropping out as my audio interface. I have a recording system set up with Presonus Studio One. I teach voice lessons through Skype. I don't use the recording DAW when teaching lessons. However the universal controller is running to allow me to channel all of the sound through the 44vsl. I am using cantabile to drive my Korg Karma. I have a condensor mic plugged into the 44vsl to communicate through Skype. 2 to 3 time per lesson all sound stops. I have to turn off and on the 44vsl and then restart the Voicemeeter Banana engine for the sound to kick up again. I have flashed the bios on the machine, updated the usb hub drivers, installed the latest universal control driver and it is still happening. Here's my machine.

the best is to post a screenshot of your voicemeeter system settings dialog box to let me see your configuration... otherwise follow instructions on this topic: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=451

Here are the other 3. I have also tried directing out from Skype to the AUX VAIO. All I get is a popping sound. The only sound that I can get to come out of either the VAIO or AUX VAIO is the midi sounds from Cantabile.

Re: Intermittant interface failure during lessons.
I changed the #1 input to MME and taught the first lesson with no dropouts. I did notice that when trying to use the WDM selection it did have the "S" to the right indicating that it was shared. I can't find any information in the Presonus forums describing how I can force the 44VSL and Universal Control into a non shared mode.
Re: Intermittant interface failure during lessons.
I've noticed that using WDM for any of the inputs/outputs for me as well have resulted in a complete crash of VM. I'm using a Behringer UMC204HD and UMC404HD. Drivers up to date, this has happened on two of my systems. WMD became unreliable a while ago, I'd say sometime late last year. Pretty sure it's a Windows issue? Or just a setting that can be tweaked but I haven't found the solution myself. I tried using WDM as it had the least amount of lag. I don't do the skype thing but I stream video games and want the least amount of lag between my microphone and game/system sounds. I'm dealing with MME for now. Even had this happen when I set my sound out to the UMC's to ASIO.

Re: Intermittant interface failure during lessons.
well, if you use an ASIO device connected to Voicemeeter output A1, you are not expected to use the this same device on other Voicemeeter physical input or output through MME, WDM or KS interface, because it can create conflict (audio device conflict).
you have different ASIO patch option in system settings dialog box to dispatch your ASIO device channels in Voicemeeter physical input and BUS...
see user manual page 20: ASIO Routing Capabilities

Re: Intermittant interface failure during lessons.
I think I get what you're saying. Basically the same physical device can't be used input and output wise if it's the ASIO out of A1? If so, I gotcha. I need to research more of how this all works, the technical and mapping side and all. I kind of understand it but when you talk about patching and such I sort of lose it. One day I'll read all up on it some more.Vincent Burel wrote:well, if you use an ASIO device connected to Voicemeeter output A1, you are not expected to use the this same device on other Voicemeeter physical input or output through MME, WDM or KS interface, because it can create conflict (audio device conflict).

Thanks for that though, I didn't know.
