Voicemeeter Potato Crashing on Audio Disconnect/Connecting

I am having Voicemeeter Potato crashing from Valve Index starting up from Steam VR and shutting down and also from wireless headset turning on and off. I have be just force closing Voicemeeter and restarting it to fix it. Some cases I have to go to the sound control panel to update the status of Valve Index to show up and pickup by Voicemeeter. I did not have this problem with my HTC Vive so not sure why the Valve Index is disconnecting. Is there a way to stop Voicemeeter from crashing for sound disconnect/connecting updates?

please be precise. what are you disconnecting from the Voicemeeter point of view ?

if it's an input MME device , yes, you may get a freeze, requiring to restart voicemeeter as it is referenced there:
