Hello VB-Audio Forum

Post by monkeyfingers »

Hi -

This is my first post. I would like to start by introducing myself. My name is Bryan. I am from the East Coast of the US. I am a musician. My main instrument is bass. I also play keys and some guitar. I have a small home project studio which I use to compose, arrange, and record music in my DAW. I am currently collaborating with a very talented singer/song writer on new material.

I just started using Voicemeeter Potato with my setup. It really is a game changer for me in many ways. With voicemeeter, I am able to do things in my DAW that were not possible previously. Firstly, I can record the output from Spotify into tracks in my DAW. This is very useful for a couple of reassons. First, if I am learning a cover, I can record the cover, then I can loop over sections. I can't do that in Spotify alone. Secondly, and more importantly, I can use a song from Spotify as a reference for my mixes. By switching between the reference song and a mix of my material, I can get a much better idea of how my mixes will translate. Finally, it is so much easier to route the sounds sources and sinks. For example I can route the output to one or more headphone amps, speakers, or stream directly to an application. Finally, in these days of 'stay at home', I am able to collaborate with my musical partner over zoom, and I can dj to my friends while we game on line. (I play D&D.)

Thanks for reading my intro. I am looking forward to conversing with this community.

Your post is one small step for a man, one giant leap for the community.

It is still in the beginning.
Okay, the Voicemeeter audio space lab is in good orbit.
But these days everyone is still a pioneer community wise.
