Multiple MIDI Inputs

Post by anamani »

Hi,

Short version:
I'd like to know if it is possible to connect two MIDI inputs to Voicemeeter Banana.
I only found a single topic on this matter but it is dated from 2016, so I was thinking it could have been added since.
Or at least, is there a macro to change the MIDI input for me to switch between the two?

Long version:
My Novation Launchkey controller has two inputs and two outputs, because it uses a "InControl" functionality which is used for example by Ableton to control tracks while not interfering with the signal which is being sent by the piano keys.
So, for the lights on the controller's drum pad to be, well, controlled, I have to activate this InControl thing and send a note-on to one of the two outputs.
The problem here is that once I activate the InControl mode, the drum pad no longer sends data on the same stream as the piano keys.
That's why I need to change my input to be able to receive data when the drum pads buttons are pressed but then I can't use the piano keys anymore, which I'm actually also using on my macros.
So, the question is: is there a way to use the two input MIDI streams at the same time?

Thank you in advance,
anamani

I figured it out. I installed MIDI Yoke and MIDI-OX. I'm now able to merge the two streams coming from the MIDI keyboard to a virtual MIDI stream which is being sent to Voicemeeter. Since the two streams work on different channels, it works perfectly fine when merged.
