I have figured out much with VM banana but I cannot figure out how to set up my DAW (Mixcraft) to record multi track. The way I see it, voicemeeter will not let me have 2 or more mics going at the same time into 2 different tracks in my DAW, each one with its own set of levels independent of each other. I can only choose VM-Vaio 1/2 for an audio track. That track picks up the mic I have connected to INPUT 1 in voicemmeeter as long as that mic sends its input to B1. The other three inputs on the Mixcraft track do not get any signal from Voicemeeter, none of the inputs. I have screenshots attached showing my settings.
Before voicemeeter, I had a USB mic connected to my PC, a Shure SM80 connected to an audio interface. I could choose the USB mic for track 1 and the SM80 for track two. The tracks would only record what was playing into those mics, separately. How do I do the same thing with voicemeeter banana?[attachment=0]Untitled 27.jpg

In Mixcraft you go to the mixer and left-click the input label.
First stereo input is VM-VAIO 1 / 2
Second stereo input is VM-VAIO 3 / 4
.............. and so on................
I am a Mixcraft user too.
Voicemeeter and Mixcraft ASIO multichannel communication works great.
PATCH COMPOSITE mode is not rocket science (besides the pre-/post-fader switching option)

Re: HELP!!! Trying to use Voicemeeter and Mixcraft with ASIO
Thanks for getting back to me. When I assign VM-Viao3/4 to a Mixcraft audio track, it no longer picks up my mic. I have a USB mic assigned to Input 1 of voicemeeter. If my Mixcraft track is set to VM-Viao1/2 it picks up that mic. I would think a second mic on Voicemeeter Input 2 would go to a Mixcraft audio track assigned VM-Viao 3/4, but nothing happens. If I set that track to VM-Viao 1/2 then all my tracks respond to the same mic and I cannot do multi-track recording. In the options tab of voicemeeter where you select each input and set as 1 or 2, then 3/4 and so on, I can only go up to 2 for every one. I know there is something I am missing and I wonder if it is even worth it. But it sounds like you have it figured out so I am curious again.
Re: HELP!!! Trying to use Voicemeeter and Mixcraft with ASIO
I had already given you this link with detailed information about PATCH COMPOSITE:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=962&sid=f6274418846 ... 136d#p3260
You have to use PATCH COMPOSITE output mode for B1 (=Voicemeeter Virtual ASIO driver selected in Mixcraft).
If you use the Aux ASIO in Mixcraft then B2 must use PATCH COMPOSITE.
Or if you use VAIO3 ASIO then B3 must use PATCH COMPOSITE.
And you have to patch the HW inputs to the composite inside Banana/Potato system settings!
->
Please, read the manual (PDF)!

Re: HELP!!! Trying to use Voicemeeter and Mixcraft with ASIO
Ok I think I may have figured some things out. Thank you for your help. I have attached snapshots that show my settings in both Mixcraft and Voicemeeter Banana. And the SAVE SETTINGS in VMB is awesome because I can simply reload them whenever I want to use Mixcraft (in case I ever change them). But my main concern in that when I select Virtual ASIO AUX as my driver, I lose the gain or input channel slider/fader in Mixcraft to be able to adjust the sensitivity of my mic. The voicemeeter faders also have zero effect because, well as you stated, composite mode is PRE fader. And I tested them too. I recorded my voice and moved the fader in VMB and the incoming signal to Mixcraft was unaffected. So how do I get the faders to control my input strength or GAIN? I don't care which app does it (Mixcraft or VMB) I just need to have that control. I am an instrumentalist (saxophone) and I need that flexibility.

Very strange!sopsax wrote:But my main concern in that when I select Virtual ASIO AUX as my driver, I lose the gain or input channel slider/fader in Mixcraft to be able to adjust the sensitivity of my mic.
Does it mean, that it only does not work with the Aux ASIO (B2) for you?
But it works with VoIcemeeter Virtual ASIO (B1)?
Anyway.
At least the post-fader switch option for PATCH COMPOSITE will help you!
But seriously, why you cannot adjust the gain in Mixcraft using the Aux ASIO, I have no clue at the moment.
Can you move the mixer slider in Mixcraft, but it does not change the gain?
Or is the slider dead (frozen) when you use the Aux ASIO?
Re: HELP!!! Trying to use Voicemeeter and Mixcraft with ASIO
Thanks for the response. I tried making a screen recording of what I was describing but apparently I cannot upload it to this forum. So the Mixcraft fader is present until I arm the track. As you know, Mixcraft turns the track red once armed. That is when the fader completely disappears, but only in ASIO mode. I think the same thing happened when I used ASIO4ALL as my device. But when I am in Core mode, the fader in Mixcraft remains functional even when armed.
I toggled the VMB settings for POST FADER composite and it DOES allow me to adjust the gain for Mixcraft via VMB. So I guess there's that.
Something I don't understand: when in ASIO mode and Virtual ASIO Aux is selected, my Misxcraft default input is VM-VIAO 1/2. My default output is the same thing- VM-VIAO 1/2. How is that possible? I mean it works and I can hear, but why isn't my output Voicemeeter VIAO Aux, because that is the strip I see getting the signal?
