Unable to get music with mic out to discord

I want to take my mic and audio from a local source (vlc perhaps), send both to discord. I want to hear what i play locally but I don't want to hear my mic. I downloaded vb virtual audio cable (vac) and virtualdj. I vdj I have my mic on deck 2, and play audio on deck 1. Vdj outputs to master and to vac. I can't split the outputs in vdj so I am hearing my mic through my speakers. The discord input is set to vac so my mic and music that I play are going to discord. The downside is vdj is sending my mic to my speakers.
So I tried virtual banana. I am able to setup my mic and as hardware input 1, i set output a1 to my speakers and as output to KS:VB Audio Point. I set discord input to voice meter output. I also change my device sound settings to default voicemeter output and voicemeter aux output .
My mic works through discord. But audio that I play on My desktop does not. I see the activity meter under the virtual inputs in voicemeter banana light up, but it doesn't play to any outputs regardless that I am selecting A1 and/A2. To be honest I tried so many different combinations I lost count. Any assistance?
