Audio playback completely stops with Voicemeeter 3.1.3.0 / VAIO driver 3.4.1.9

Post by walterbishop »

Hi everyone!

After updating Voicemeeter to version 3.1.3.0, I started experiencing a strange issue with audio playback on Windows 10.

Everything works fine initially, but within about 30 minutes, audio suddenly stops working through Voicemeeter. It can happen while listening to music, watching Youtube, playing games or even when the PC is completely idle.

The weird part is that it's not just silence — audio players won't even start playback. The playback timer stays at 0:00, and YouTube videos get stuck loading indefinitely.

Voicemeeter itself keeps working, and microphone audio still passes through to my Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Gen. Playing audio directly through the Scarlett, bypassing Voicemeeter, also works fine.

Restarting the audio engine, Voicemeeter itself, or Windows Audio services doesn't help. Only rebooting Windows restores playback.

I've tried reinstalling Voicemeeter from scratch, updating the Focusrite drivers and firmware, switching between ASIO and WDM, and even switching to the latest Banana version. Nothing helped.

Eventually, I rolled back to Voicemeeter Potato 3.1.2.2 with VAIO driver 3.4.1.7, and the problem seems to have disappeared. Previously, it would always occur within 30 minutes, but the older version has been running without issues.

This makes me suspect something changed in the latest Voicemeeter release or its virtual audio driver.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar with version 3.1.3.0 or VAIO driver 3.4.1.9?
