Voicemeeter will not open up at all (HDMI / Display port)

Hi,

I just got a new laptop (windows update at the latest and all drivers from OEM at latest) and I'm a heavy Voicemeeter user. On my new laptop, when I install Banana, it's successful, but after reboot, when I go to start it up, nothing happens, I just get crash messages and it never runs. I uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times to no success. I decided that if banana didn't work, maybe potato would? So I loaded up potato and same thing, install goes smoothly, but at launch a bunch of errors. However, potato actually loads after a bunch of errors and I'm able to use it successfully. I found that MacroButtons also will never launch without crashing too.

If I try to run the check driver installation tool, I get the first image crash (twice).

I found out if I change the compatibility mode to Windows 8 for every exe in the Voicemeeter program folder it no longer crashes and everything runs. It still says I have driver errors though and I have this output. Not really sure how to resolve this as I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times already.

we have already seen the case with bad HDMI driver (intel audio display driver). just de-install or disable this audio driver.

Oh great! Sorry just seeing this response, I thought I'd get email notifications when someone responded. I'll try this on Monday when I turn my work laptop on again!

To be clear, should I be able to remove the windows 8 compatibility mode then too? Or should that just fix the bad driver check?

yes , the compatibility mode is normally not required.

I have same problem on new HP ProBook 640 G8 - voicemeeter won't start - process disappears after starting with Intel HD audio driver for display audio version 30.0.100.9864

According to both Microsoft Windows Update and HP Assistant this is latest version of display driver.

Even VBDeviceCheck.exe won't start with this device enabled.

Let me know what other information I can post to help investigate this issue.

Used Intel® Driver & Support Assistant to install latest Intel drivers version 30.0.101.1069, bu it did not help. Voicemeeter apps still silently crash right after start.

One more note, there are two "HD Audio Driver for Display Audio" device in Device manager and disabling first of them removes the second. I think this might have something to do with DisplayPort Multistream support (just hypothesis).

Thanks for the information, for the moment we have not been in direct contact with this bug
we just think this is certainly happening during the audio device enumeration... incredible...

that's why the VBDriverChecker crashes as well , (it is mainly enumerating audio devices).
