"Master Section" Fader change, changes all buses

Hello there,
I don't know how it is implemented, but it would be great to have the Buses "post" Fader or to have a toggle Button.
But for now i think there is a bug in the implementation.
1. Select a Bus
2. Set a Channel Fader to a value
3. Do the same thing for a differrent Bus
4. Deselect all Buses (SEL)
5. NOW: if you touch this Channel Fader in the "Master" Section (no Buses (SEL) selected), all the Buses gets overridden in this specific channel.
Expected Behaviour:
If i touch or change a channel Fader in the "Master" Section, the value on this channel fader in the Buses should stay the same, but the input to the Buses should be changed. Like in the real world on a mixing audio console.
Feedback would be great
Have a nice day

sorry but i don't know if i understand well your remark.
the SEL button (only in Voicemeeter Potato) allows to select one or several BUS to set a specific mix for them.
the gain slider on strip show the level related to the SeLected BUS
(if several BUS are selected, Strip Gain Slider sow the max level use for al selected bus)
no bus selected = ALL bus selected.
what you suggested , if i understand well, is to AUTO-SELECT the BUS if we move its slider ... Right ?

And thatโs exactly the โproblemโ.
For Example if you set 2 Busses A1 and A2.
A1 to -15db and A2 to -40db.
Now you deselect all Buses and touch the Channel Fader (which should be at -15db like you said in your previous post) both Busses will be instantly at -15db which could blow all equipment connected to A2.
This is a behaviour which is not present in the real world at any mixing desk where you have ether Pre- or Post-Fader Output Buses (doesn't matter if Master or Aux).
That means, if you set your channels like above and you touch the Channel Fader, the Faders in the Buses should NEVER change their position.
The Volume does always change relative to the Input Fader in the Bus.
There is not a single Use Case for the current behaviour. But there are a lot of risks.
If it would be possible to change the behaviour to a real Post-Fade mechanic, the risk would be non existant and all other use cases would still be possible to do.
If you have further questions, please feel free to ask.
Maybe we are talking about different things

Feedback are welcome

input strip Faders are in ABSOLUTE mode. This mode is needed anyway, and must be the default one.
what you ask for is a RELATIVE mode. i note your request.
Current workaround: use the VM-Streamer view (in last version 3.0.2.1) showing all strip slider for each BUS.

Hi Vincent,
I think you now understand what I'm talking about.
But please can you explain, why it is or have to be in ABSOLUTE mode at default?
I just want to understand why it has to be like this because I never ever have seen a Mixing desk or a DAW which has absolut fader.
Maybe you can clear up my confusion about that choice of implementation
Greetings

the ABSOLUTE mode is the default mode when there is no multilayer /submix.
Voicemeeter Standard & Banana do not allow to define a different mix for each Bus.
you would say that RELATIVE mode can do the same while the SEL button is not used.
but if used accidentally or by another user, moving strip slider again will make different behavior compared to ABSOLUTE mode...
The other reason is that Voicemeeter is not a music mixer, but more oriented communication mixer (with mix-minus feature)...
meaning BUS are really defining sub mix for different purpose - and for this kind of workflow, it's difficult to say if a Slider RELATIVE mode would be more useful than the current ABSOLUTE mode.
i note anyway the request, to possibly add an option somewhere... will have to investigate more with current users on this question... will see how the VM-Streamer View will be used (it is proposing a RELATIVE mode).

Hi
I'm a long time user of Banana and switched to Potato a few month ago because of the bus mix feature.
What happend to me (too) many times was to forget to select a bus before changing the level of an input. With the result that all my bus mixes were modified and "destroyed".
I'm not sure when no buses are selected the relative or absolute implementation is the best one.
For me the "no bus selected = ALL bus selected" is the critical implementation.
Best regards, Pat

ok, will see the usage with the VM-Streamer View (having this RELATIVE mode)
but the first feedback shows that we should sync the ABSOLUTE/RELATIVE mode with a Voicemeeter option to get a consistent MIDI Control behavior too on slider of the VM-Streamer-View...

we have implemented the Slider RELATIVE mode in Potato version 3.0.2.2
let me know if it fits your original request.
