Hi everyone! Thanks for the great app, it sure looks promising!
I'm on the fence at the moment because there are a few things that I can't figure out. Combing through the forum, YouTube, and other Internet resources hasn't yielded any results, so you guys are my last hope. Here's what I'm struggling with (I'm not very technical, so please go easy on me:)
1. Talkback & Monitor buttons at the top of the main window
What is the purpose of these? Contextual help says, "ALT-Click" or "SHIFT-Click". None of these combinations seem to do much other than make the buttons light up, but this can be done with a simple left click and doesn't seem to change anything. In the Matrix, if I route the audio to the ASIO device with headphones connected, I hear the sound whether or not Monitor is enabled. If no routing is selected, there's no sound, Monitor or not.
2. Setting a physical device as Master
As a temporary solution, I have an iConnectMIDI2+ to stream audio between the Matrix PC and a Mac. Every time I try to make this device the Master, the app starts turning the Audio Engine on and off in an endless loop, and the only way to stop it is by unplugging the device. All other ASIO devices (Focusrite USB/Scarlett 4i4 3rd Gen and Yamaha Steinberg FW ASIO/Motif XS8) can be set as Master with no issues. What could be the problem? I have the latest drivers installed.
3. VBAN
a) I tried to stream audio into the Matrix from a Mac with VBAN Talkie Cherry & VB-Cable installed. Talkie seems to work only with VB-Cable. When I select a different audio interface, there's no audio. Is this normal?
b) With VB-Cable, VBAN works, but there are dropouts and an unbearable amount of latency (200 ms or so). Is there any way to fix it? The two machines are connected via Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi is off.
c) Looks like there's a way of sending MIDI over VBAN, but I cannot figure out how to route MIDI from the DAW (Cubase 13) into the Matrix and how to make the other computer receive it. Do I need to install any additional software on the Matrix machine and the destination computer?
I know this is a lot to ask, any help you can give will be greatly appreciated!!!
