I was a musician in my earlier life, played drums. Had an ElectroVoice RE20 mic for my kick drum. Turns out this seems to be a really good mic for speaking. My problem is that I cannot seem to figure out how to put EQ or other effects on my mic and pump it directly to the Google Voice or Zoom, without having it in the audio mix coming back through my speakers. I am using Scarlett Solo. I was to the point of purchasing an analog mixed and putting it's output into the scarlett (where I plug the mic into now). I am wondering do I need to learn about virtual cables and could I accomplish what I want to do with them. Or would Matrix assist in any way. Any assistance would be very appreciative. I am somewhat familiar with mixing boards because of my earlier life, I also was a Space Qualified Solder Tech, and built many snakes for running mic lines from the stage to the mixing board. I understand I will not be soldering any virtual cables. Thanks, B Hopp.
