I'm trying to use VB-Cable to relay audio from my computer (through an app such as a media player for example) to another application, such as OBS or a VST host. I've tried making VB-Cable my default device for audio output/input, but whenever I do this, no matter if there is any audio output or not, all I get through my headphones or speakers, is static/noise. No matter how I configure any of my apps, such as my music player devices, to set VB Cable's output/input as the default for audio output, I still only get noise and not the correct audio stream. How do I fix this?

First point: VB-CABLE is just a cable to connect 2x applications together: a player to a recorder.
Assuming you have kept default parameter of the VB-CABLE it is expected to work 100% but we do not know how you route audio to your speaker or headphone in this story.

So, basically, if you want to do more than a link between 2x application, for example if you want to monitor , mix or route audio to audio device, you may use Voicemeeter or Banana first.
