I'm not sure I've posted this in the right place in this forum. If it's not in the right place, someone please let me know and I'll remove this one and repost there.

Hi,

I am having trouble setting up one final thing on VoiceMeeter's Potato...

I am a one man band, and I play synths and drum machines, along with samples and loops with a Stream Deck unit through my laptop. I need to be able to play all those things live (which I can), I need to be able to hear them all (which I can't sometimes with the samples/loops), and I need to be able to record those things all at once.

It's my understanding that any audio originating through my laptop has to be on a loop of some sort. So I downloaded the Potato software, and now I have a lot more audio routing options.

I went through all the selections after using the VB AI chat help thing, and checked everything I thought I needed to check.

I'm just not checking the proper boxes to hear and record both the audio from my laptop AND the audio coming in from my audio interface.

If anyone here can help me, I would be eternally grateful. I struggle terribly with technology and pathways, and this has me incredibly frustrated. If I can't find help here, I'm going to have to try and find a freelancer on Fiverr, but they're not always as "expert" as they say they are.

I can post screenshots of any settings upon request.

it should have been better to post it in Voicemeeter forum.

anyway, if you want to make music with Voicemeeter, you may connect an ASIO device as output A1 and Patch the different input to Voicemeeter input Strip as it is explained in this video tutorial: https://youtu.be/35N8hkOy8h4

You may set Voicemeeter virtual input as default playback device to get all sound from other audio application. If using DAW or Audio app using ASIO device, you may connect them to Voicemeeter Virtual ASIO.

You can use the integrated recorder to register a BUS output (go in recorder option to select the BUS you want to record).

if you need more help, you may come on our Discord server instead... https://vb-audio.com/Services/support.htm
