Microphone problem

I cannot seem to get Voicemeeter to recognize my microphone. It's not a USB, but has a mini plug connection. When I try and set hardware input 1 as my mic, it shows in the drop down list as a USB. No other mic option is shown. I use RadioDJ for my internet radio station, but I can't record any new promos etc because of the mic problem. Thanks for your help.

check it's enabled and working (you can see incoming signal on the meter bar).

The mic. shows up in the Windows Recording Devices. It says it's ready. No signal from the meter bar.

Does your microphone have an audio style 3.5mm connector on it? Those look like the following picture but will probably be pink or not-green:
Is it plugged into a socket connected to your motherboard? If it is, then check what Vincent said, look in your Recording Devices list to see if you can find something that looks like a microphone icon. It may show as Realtek Microphone, I can't say any alternatives.
If it doesn't look like that, and it doesn't look like the normal "big" USB connector, then let us know what it does look like. "Mini connector" in my experience covers a large number of potential plugs.
