When I assign hotkeys to macro buttons like "*+A" (ones that begin with an asterisk) the buttons activate with the letter pressed even if the asterisk key is not simultaneously pressed.

no "*+A" means any system key +A
it will work when typing "A" key even if CTRL, ALT or SHIFT are pressed too.
