192000Hz

So I know I'm not like a dolphin or anything, but there is any reason I can't set the preferred main sample rate to 192000Hz?

In theory a lot of my audio hardware supports this, and I have a few pairs of really nice headphones plugged into a fairly nice audio interface. I've noticed that if I actually set the sample rate in Windows to 192000 for both the Aux and VAIO lines, I seem to see their sample rate changes inside the cable adjuster app (even there's no official way in the dropdown menu to set them that high), but it doesn't actually change on the app itself (possibly because it's limited by the actual internal preferred rate?). I'm also hesitant to leave it like that, because I don't know if there's actually any point if the internal preferred rate is half of that, and I don't know if there will be any performance issues that will come out of it.

yes, our Virtual I/O are supporting 192kHz but will work internally in 96 kHz max.
Voicemeeter main stream (output A1) can work in 44.1, 48, 88.2 or 96kHZ but other audio input /output can also support 192 kHz.

for the moment, we limit the internal computation to 96 kHz max.

Is there a reason why it's limited to 96000Hz?

Is it hard to allow 192000Hz? Is it too much processing and just not stable, or are there latency issues or something?

it's doubling the CPU load surely and the user demand on 192kHZ support is very low.
but i note your demand anyway.

I'm not too worried about CPU load (this is a pretty powerful computer) I do understand that it may further decrease demand though.
Thank you for noting! :D

I just figured if it was super easy to implement I'd be interested in having it.

i'm going to make a test this week ... to see if this can be done easily or not...

ok, 192 kHz support is in latest Potato package version 3.0.0.3 (see our latest post on facebook / g+ / twitter)
