I had never any problems with any Banana or the four pre-release versions of Potato. Potato 3.0.0.4 works fine with VAIO3 ASIO and Potato ASIO Insert.

Potato setup 3.0.0.5 does not install properly the new VAIO3 driver, though it states that it has successfully installed everything at the end.

I have done the procedure of deinstallation -> Win restart -> installation -> Win restart multiple times. I am back to Potato v3.0.0.4. Though the setup of 3.0.0.5 seems to run ok ("succesfully"), the VAIO3 driver is not present in Potato and in Windows device manager pops up the following diagnostic message (German):
"Die digitale Signatur der für dieses Gerät erforderlichen Treiber kann nicht überprüft werden. Bei einer vor Kurzem durchgeführten Änderung an Hardware oder Software wurde möglicherweise eine Datei installiert, die falsch signiert oder beschädigt ist. Möglicherweise handelt es sich auch um schädliche Software einer unbekannten Quelle. (Code 52)".

English translation: "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)".

I also noticed that the Potato setup does not remove the VAIO3 driver correctly, though it also claims that everything has been removed. I had to manually remove the VAIO3 driver inside Windows device manager after so called "successfull" deinstallation and Windows reboot. So, I wonder if there are other Windows 7 users with the same problem, or is it just me?

normally it is signed and we have made 2 test of installation on WIN7 64 bits without problem...
maybe an error during installation... to be checked with next updates...

Problem solved!

I had forgotton to mention that it is an offline (audio and stability focused) computer with Windows 7 Pro SP1 64 bit (with additional updates applied if necessary).
I had to apply Windows6.1-KB3035131-x64.msu and Windows6.1-KB3033929-x64.msu security updates to make VAIO3 driver installation of Potato setup version 3.0.0.5 functional. These updates enable SHA-2 signing and funcionality verification. So, I guess that the new Windows VAIO3 driver relies on SHA-2 signing!?

Now I remember that I had a similar problem with parts of a KORG USB driver some months ago. Then I found a workaround with enabled test signing and DSEO 1.3b (Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider) to patch some driver files. But probably those Windows security updates would have been the better choice to solve that similar problem!?

good to know, but it's strange because the driver for WIN7 is SHA-1 signed ,
nevertheless, we already got this problem in the past, where in rare cases the driver was set as unsigned by the system without knowing why... i will change the title of the thread...
