Volume control when using VB-Cable

I have installed VB-cable to make use of a third party audio compressor on Windows 7. I want to be able to do volume control from a USB pc remote but whatever control code it sends changes the default device volume level (which is VB-Cable) and has no effect.

Is there any way to control speaker device volume when it isn't the default?

no, volume control is not implemented in our virtual audio cable.
