Hi,

I looking at the manual, it says to make VoiceMeeter the default output.

Do most people just run voicemeeter at in systray/startup mode and leave it running?

Is there any benefit to using something like vb cable and only pulling up Voicemeeter Potato when needed?

well, it's pending on what you do with audio
but the main use case is to replace Windows Mixer by Voicemeeter.
so the option "System Tray" is recommended in most of the cases.
