I will lead by asking if anyone knows if Voicemeeter is 32 bit or 64 bit? And is there a way to make sure that the software version i'm using is 64 bit? One person in another forum suggested that this may be part of the issue.
I am using Reaper Audio with Voicemeeter Banana. The audio device settings are set to Voicemeeter ASIO. On ASIO channels 1 and 2 are the computer's audio which I record into one track and then ASIO channel 3 takes the input from Hardware Input 1, which is my mic.
That also gets sent to Skype or Google Voice.
Now, most of the time, when recording, I have absolutely no problem recording myself on one track, using voicemeeter to send my mic audio to Skype to a source (I am a journalist), and then recording the Skype audio into another track. However, every once in a while, the audio is horrifically corrupted. It sounds clipped even though it is not clipped. Once it begins, Reaper seems unable to record literally anything without creating this god awful distortion. It's absolutely unusable for my work, and then I have to ask sources to get back on the phone for another interview. Once I restart Reaper, i generally don't run into problems when starting a new recording.
I have no idea why this is happening. I turned my buffering size up on both Voicemeter ASIO and Reaper's block size to 1024 just in case that would help. I have a very good computer however, so I'm not 100% sure that's the problem.
These are my settings: https://imgur.com/a/A3ApCiD
any help would be super appreciated

Re: 32 or 64-bit Voicemeeter banana? Problems with recording using a DAW
hello, there is no problem reported about Voicemeeter and 32bit or 64bit.
Voicemeeter can work on Windows 32bit or 64bits and connect to any applications (32 or 64bits too)
Voicemeeter Potato 64bits is easy to reconize, because "x64" is displayed besire Potato.
if you have audio stability problem, it's always due to a configuration problem, please read this topic:

your configuration seems to be ok, except the VAIO internal latency currently set to 4096 : the default value is 7168 (righ click on it to change them). if too small , this could typically bring problem in virtual audio link.

Hi Vincent, thanks so much for your reply.
How do I set the VAIO internal latency? When I right click on it, It just asks me if i want to rename the VAIOs.

Vincent,
You mentioned potato can be 64 bits. How do I install the 64 bit version of potato? I did install potato on my computer but it still says the program is 32 bit in task manager.
thanks!

if you installed potato package, you can find the potato 64bits in your program files / VB / Voicemeeter folder.
