Crackling Audio Stream when Voicemeeter is in background (power throttling)

If your audio is stable but becomes unstable and crackling when swapping to another application (Discord, Chrome, Word...) or setting Voicemeeter in background or system tray then you have certainly a power throttling option problem (coming with some 2025 Win11 update).

Run the command prompt in administrator mode and type

>powercfg /powerthrottling /list

to get the list of applications with power throttling disabled (Never On).

to disable Power Throttling option for a given application , you must use this instruction

>powercfg /powerthrottling disable /path C:\Program Files (x86)\VB\Voicemeeter\voicemeeter8x64.exe

then possible reboot your computer to be sure about the option effectivity.


You can disable power throttling option for every audio application in the chain (for example):
