Hi

I am having an issue when shutting down. my system hangs on the shutdown screen. from the logs in event viewer i think the problem is with my arduino leonardo that i have used to build a midi mixer however i have also noticed that if i shutdown VoiceMeeter or set it to no midi input my system shuts down as normal. i think this might be related to this issue and VoiceMeeter keeping the audio device open.

thanks for any help

normally Voicemeeter shutdown too when Windows is shutting down... i guess there is something that lock the process... possibly a driver then.

i agree it is a driver issue however it is definatly related to voicemeeter. there are 2 senarios that alow for a propper shutdown

1. unplug the device and leave voicemeeter on
2. leave the device pluged in and exit voicemeeter

based on some googaling and this SuperUser question i think that the driver is stoping the shutdown (and automatic sleep but i never use that) because voicemeeter is holding the audio stream open

as per the mentioned SU question i have tryed to override the drivers stopping shutdown but that also hasent worked

i have tryed scripts to close voicemeeter befor shutdown but i cant seem to get that to work. for some reason it does not rlease the driver eaven when shutdown. i think it is the Legacy Kernel Caller driver that is messing up.

i have found a 3rd scenario that works

leave the device pluged in and voicemeeter on but unselect the device in the midi mapping screen
